Role Summary:Irrigation Tech requires entry level knowledge
and skills related to irrigation operation, installation and maintenance of all
irrigation systems. The job is often seasonal and labor-intensive.
Principal Accountabilities: (essential job
functions):
1. Responsible assisting
with installation, maintenance and repair of irrigation systems.
2. Responsible assisting
with of time clocks that operate irrigation systems.
3. Responsible for assisting
with repairs and adjustments to maintain all systems in proper working
condition.
4. Responsible assisting
with maintaining records and submit reports on conditions of all irrigation
systems.
5. Responsible assisting
with the inventory of parts, supplies and equipment of irrigation systems.
6. Follows all proper
safety practices, hygiene and work practices in accordance with company
policies.
7. Complies with all
applicable LifeROOTS polices and procedures.
8. Relies on instructions
and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Primary job functions do not typically
require exercising independent judgment.
9. All questions concerning
the grounds keeping contract, work scheduling, issues with grounds and
equipment, chemicals or supplies shall be directed to the Project Manager, the
Supervisor or the Director of Contracts.
No direct contact shall be made with contract personnel.
10. Adherence to the
contracted grounds keeping schedule is of prime importance and critical to the
success of the contract. Any deviations
to this must be approved through the Project Manager, the Supervisor or the
Director of Contracts.
11. Responsible for
participation in the company’s Health and Safety program and ensure that all
department-applicable safety requirements are fulfilled.
12. Will not have purchasing
authority and must adhere to LifeROOTS purchasing policy.
13. Perform other related
duties as assigned by Supervisor or Project Manager.
Essential Skills and
Experience:
1. HS Diploma or GED; One
year of experience in assisting with operating, maintaining and repairing
components of irrigation systems, including but not limited to replacing
sprinklers, drip systems, PVC, distribution tubing.
2.
Knowledge of the occupational hazards of the
trade and of the proper use of safety practices.
3.
Ability to diagnose problems with valves using an
electrical meters; assist in making necessary repairs and adjustments to
maintain all systems in proper working conditions.
4.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including
weekends, holidays and evenings, as required.
5. Must be able to read and
write English and have good verbal and written communication skills.

Conditions of
Employment:
1. Must pass Drug
Screening, Fingerprints and background check.
2. Must have a valid and
current driver's license with good driving record and must have current auto
insurance as required by applicable state law.
3. Routinely operates a
company vehicle or a personal vehicle while on company business.
4. Must be at least 18
years of age.
Physical Challenges:
1. Physically able to
perform essential functions of the position without hazard to self or others.

independently
3. Non-sedentary work, walking,
frequent bending, lifting & carrying 60 pounds occasionally.
4. Must be able to operate grounds
keeping and lawn maintenance equipment.
