About Us
Abrazos Family Support Services is a federally recognized
501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Since 1978, Abrazos has provided a variety
of specialized educational, health, developmental, and parent support services
that help families to meet the special needs of their infants, children, and
adult family members with disabilities.
The mission of Abrazos Family Support Services is to enhance
the quality of life for individuals with developmental delays and disabilities
by providing family-centered, community-based services. Our Vision is to
empower all children and families to achieve their full potential and live

Our services are available to individuals and families who
live in Sandoval and Bernalillo counties, New Mexico. Our programs include
Infant/Toddler Services (Early Intervention), Autism Services, Respite
Services, and Family Living.
We are looking for a candidate to join our agency full time
as a Donor Development Specialist. The
ideal candidate will care about our mission and enjoy identifying and
communicating it to potential donors and benefactors via both grant writing and
direct donor development.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Identifies and develops new fundraising and donor
opportunities.
Evaluates existing donor partnerships and fundraising
efforts with an eye toward building on what works and changing what doesn’t.
Manages key donor relationships and works to build new ones.
Develops and maintains a database of donors, or potential
donors, including individual, corporate and foundation benefactors.
Produces written proposals for public, private and
foundation grants.
Prepares written materials for fundraising solicitations,
donor outreach and marketing, including case stories, web site content,
brochures, and other public relation materials.
Develops and maintains a system of soliciting, documenting,
and thanking donors.
Identifies and collaborates with community resources.
Negotiates with potential donors/funding sources, including
in-kind donations.
Evaluates and monitors all fundraiser expenditures and
results.
Develops, implements, and maintains a database/reporting
system showing the efficacy of agency fund development efforts.
Reads and follow all agency employee policies.
Maintains and upgrades professional expertise and relations
in the community.
Assists Executive Director in conducting related tasks and
duties as may be requested.
